Movement Diagnoses:

Managing Acute and Chronic Stages

Quality Continuing Education for Neurorehabilitation Professionals

Course
Description

Examination of the Human Movement System is always a challenge because of its inherent complexity. It can be a daunting task in severely injured, medically complex patients as well as in high functioning, community dwelling patients. An incomplete or faulty examination may lead to less effective interventions and diminished outcomes. In this course, the iterative process of differential diagnosis will be the focus of the course. The course will prepare you to make accurate diagnoses and continue with rigorous re-examination for the course of treatment.

Ideal for:

  • Certified Neurorehabilitation Professionals who have completed The NeuroPro Standards Course
  • Therapists who have attended other neurorehabilitation certification courses
  • APTA Neurologic Certified Specialists (NCS)

Upon Completion

You’ll know how to:

Utilize an expanded knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology to further understand and examine the Human Movement System

Integrate all body segments into the examination

Establish "gold standards" within salient activities

Move from observation based signs to differential diagnosis

Make more sensitive and specific tests of neuromuscular function

Select “measures of power” to set baseline and monitor change in function
